ANALISIS EKONOMI PENGEMBANGAN PADI SAWAH DENGAN METODE SYSTEM OF RICE INTENSIFICATION DI PROVINSI JAMBI


ABSTRACT

This study aims to learn the techniques of rice cultivation using SRI methods, analyze the differences in the management of lowland rice farming with SRI methods and the conventional  methods viewed from the aspect of cost, production, and income, and to find out how much  the economic value of the benefits derived from the application of SRI  methods on the  farm  rice  paddies in Jambi Province. 

The result of this study showed that the application of SRI method of rice farming increases the production by 53.5%, save the use of seed, labor, and costs for fertilizer and pesticides. On the average it can reduce about 50% of the cost of production. For the aspect of farm revenues, the application of SRI method is able to provide additional revenue by 65.15% compared to conventional farming system.  Economically, the application of SRI method gives B/C ratio of 3.01. In the macro scale, application of SRI method in 50%  of the  technical and semi-technical irrigated farm rice area  in  Jambi Province will increase the  rice  production of about 62,726 tons and the farm revenues ofabout Rp.294.07 billion per year, assuming the IP-200. From the aspect of the employment absobtion, the SRI method can reduce the use of labor by 51.3%. This labor savings means the savings of the expenditure for hiring labor from outside of the farm and consequently become an additional income for farmers amounting to Rp. 4.866 million per plant season or Rp.9.732.000 per year.
